Before attempting any upgrade, complete all of the following tasks:

• Visit Support to download a complete upgrade checklist and current service packs.
• Confirm all your third-party add-in products are compatible with the latest release.
• Print the Dynamics.Set and Dex.Ini files for each workstation.
• Document your account structure (including sort segments).
• Make a complete backup.
• Complete all file and database maintenance routines.
• Document your customized forms (Forms.dic) and reports (Reports.dic) for Great Plains as well as all other installed products.
• Backup and export your financial statement specification set.
• Run control reports to use to balance to following the upgrade.
• Complete a full test upgrade on a different system before attempting the live upgrade.
